Santa's Apprentice (2010) on Netflix

Plot summary

At the North Pole, Santa Claus has no wish to retire, but the Council of Retired Santas insists that he train a successor. The rule is narrow: the apprentice must be an orphan called Nicholas, and his heart must be pure. Santa scans the globe and finds such a boy in Sydney, Australia, living in an orphanage with his friend Felix. Nicholas is timid and afraid of heights, and a bully named Grincroch tells him Santa is not real. After Felix is adopted and moves to America, Santa brings Nicholas to the North Pole. There the boy meets Mrs. Lovejoy, Santa's wife, and a small polar bear, Rufus, and begins his training.
