Plot summary
Hildegard, a nun crossing the Badlands, finds Weston, an outlaw who has been left for dead. She nurses him until he recovers, and he agrees to guide her to a church in Williston in return. The two make an unlikely pair, and as they travel together a friendship forms between them. They learn to work as a team to survive the dangers of the journey.
