Plot summary
Matt Weston, a junior CIA officer, runs a safe house in Cape Town and has yet to receive a houseguest, leaving him without field experience. He calls his superior David Barlow about a post in Paris, where his girlfriend Ana Moreau, a French physician, is about to begin her residency. Elsewhere in the city, Tobin Frost, a former operative wanted for espionage, takes a data storage device from Alec Wade and, pursued by gunmen, surrenders at the American consulate. Daniel Kiefer's team brings Frost to Weston's house to interrogate him, and mercenaries attack the building. Weston escapes the house with Frost, his prisoner, and calls Langley, where Barlow, Catherine Linklater and Harlan Whitford tell him to stay hidden and wait for instructions.
