Steven Keats
Biography
Steven Keats was an American actor who grew up in Canarsie, Brooklyn, and studied drama at Yale from 1969 to 1970. He made his Broadway debut in Oh! Calcutta! and went on to appear in more than 80 films and television shows. His films included The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973), Death Wish (1974), The Gambler (1974), Hester Street (1975), The Gumball Rally (1976), Black Sunday (1977), Hangar 18 (1980), Silent Rage (1982) and Turk 182! (1985). On television he played a Depression-era clothing magnate in the miniseries Seventh Avenue, earning an Emmy nomination in 1977, and portrayed Thomas Edison on Voyagers!. He also appeared in the 1982 television movie The Executioner's Song and guest-starred on shows including Kojak, The A-Team, Hill Street Blues, Miami Vice and MacGyver. He died in 1994.
