Richard Ridings

Biography

Richard Ridings is an English actor who trained at Bretton Hall College and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has since worked across television, film, radio and video games. He played Mr Lipa in the Academy Award-nominated drama The Pianist (2002) and Buck, a courageous ape, in Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), while earlier screen credits include Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and Fierce Creatures (1997). His television work takes in Alan Ashburn in Fat Friends, Bernard Green in Common as Muck and Mr Bumble in Dickensian, along with appearances in Red Dwarf, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) and Highlander: The Series. He voices Daddy Pig in Peppa Pig, has lent his voice to Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom and Q Pootle 5, and has recorded characters for games including Quake III Arena, Dungeon Keeper and Xenoblade Chronicles.
