Rhodes Reason
Biography
Rhodes Reason was an American actor whose career ran to more than 200 roles across television, film and the stage. Born in Glendale, California, and the younger brother of actor Rex Reason, he began acting at 18 in a Charles Laughton directed production of Romeo and Juliet. He starred in King Kong Escapes (1967), played Sheriff Will Mayberry in the ABC drama Bus Stop, and took the lead in 39 episodes of the British series White Hunter (1957). Westerns gave him much of his television work, in shows such as Maverick, Tombstone Territory, Sugarfoot, Colt .45 and Death Valley Days, and he guest starred in Perry Mason, The Time Tunnel and Star Trek. His films included Yellowstone Kelly (1959) and A Fever in the Blood (1961), and in the early 1980s he played Daddy Warbucks in the Broadway musical Annie for nearly three years. He died in 2014.
