Ray Fearon
Biography
Ray Fearon is a British actor who was born in London, grew up in the northwest of the city, and studied drama at Rose Bruford College after joining youth theater companies as a boy. He made his name on stage, becoming the first black actor to take the title part in Othello for the Royal Shakespeare Company's main stage in 1999, and playing Romeo for the company in 1997. He also played Macduff opposite Kenneth Branagh in Macbeth at the Manchester International Festival in 2013, a performance shown in cinemas through National Theatre Live. On television he played Nathan Cooper in Coronation Street from 2005 to 2006, Carlo de' Medici in Da Vinci's Demons, and Hot Misogynist in Fleabag in 2019. His film work includes Firenze the centaur in the Harry Potter series and a small part in Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet (1996).
