Ralph Foody

Ralph Foody was an American character actor who had a long stage career before moving into film. A Chicago native, he earned a journalism degree from Marquette University and trained as an actor at the Goodman Theatre. He worked in regional, touring, and repertory productions across Illinois and the Midwest, and in the 1960s he belonged to the Peninsula Players in Door County, Wisconsin. On screen he played Detective Cragie in Code of Silence (1985). He also appeared as a police dispatcher in The Blues Brothers. He played a police captain in Raw Deal. He made three films with director Andrew Davis and two with Costa-Gavras. In Home Alone (1990) and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York from 1992, he played the 1930s gangster Johnny, which was his final acting role. He died in 1999.
