Norman Mitchell
Biography
Norman Mitchell was an English actor whose career covered television, stage and film. His birthplace was Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire, and he attended Carterknowle Grammar School before studying at the University of Sheffield. He acted in repertory theater and with the Royal Shakespeare Company, then served with the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War II. He went on to numerous television appearances and more than sixty films. His television credits included Doctor Who, The Prisoner, Dad's Army, On the Buses, Yes Minister, and Last of the Summer Wine, as well as Come Back Mrs Noah, Robin's Nest, Worzel Gummidge, Are You Being Served? and All Creatures Great and Small. He died in 2001.
