Mitch Pileggi
Biography
Mitch Pileggi is an American actor who was born in Portland, Oregon, and began performing in musical theater while a high school student in Turkey. After returning to Austin, he took small roles in B-movies and guest spots on television series. He starred in Three O'Clock High (1987) and as the body-possessing killer Horace Pinker in Wes Craven's Shocker (1989), and played a villain in the television film Knight Rider 2000 (1991). His best-known part is Walter Skinner, the FBI assistant director on The X-Files, a recurring role that became a regular one in 2001 and lasted until the series ended in 2002; he reprised Skinner in The X-Files (1998) and The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008). His other television work includes Stargate Atlantis, Sons of Anarchy, Dallas, Supernatural and Walker. He has also voiced Commissioner James Gordon and hosted Fox magic and moon-landing specials.
