Michael Brandon

Michael Brandon is an American actor who has worked on Broadway, in film and on television. Born in Brooklyn, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, began on Broadway and then moved into film. His early films included Lovers and Other Strangers (1970) and Four Flies on Grey Velvet (1971), and he later appeared in FM (1978), A Change of Seasons (1980), The Lost Battalion (2001), Hawking (2004) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). On television he is known for playing James Dempsey in Dempsey and Makepeace from 1985 to 1986 and for narrating the American dub of Thomas & Friends from 2004 to 2012. In 1969 he appeared on Broadway in Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, and he played Jerry Springer in the West End staging of Jerry Springer: The Opera from 2003 to 2004. He also appeared in British series such as The Bill and Trial & Retribution.
