Lana Clarkson

Biography

Lana Clarkson was an American actress and model known for 1980s sword and sorcery films and B movie science fiction. Born in Long Beach, California, she grew up in Sonoma County before her family returned to Los Angeles County, where she pursued acting and modeling. She began with small film and television parts in the early 1980s, and her first speaking role came in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Her best known work was five features for producer Roger Corman, starting with Deathstalker (1983), which led to the title part in Barbarian Queen (1985), a character Corman likened to the original Xena. She reprised that warrior role in the sequel Barbarian Queen II: The Empress Strikes Back and took a supporting part in The Haunting of Morella (1990). She guest starred on television shows including Knight Rider and Wings, and she wrote, produced, and directed the 2001 showcase reel Lana Unleashed. She died in 2003.
