Plot summary
Edith is behind on the bills for her cocktail lounge and stands to be evicted, while her identical twin Margaret, widow of the wealthy officer Frank DeLorca, is secure for life. Estranged for eighteen years, since Margaret faked a pregnancy to take Edith's fiancé, the sisters meet at Frank's funeral. Edith phones Margaret to come to the room above the lounge so they can settle their score, shoots her, dresses the body in her own clothes, and stages her death as a suicide. She moves into the DeLorca mansion as Margaret, but the impersonation brings complications and risks she had not counted on.
