Jesse Borrego
Biography
Jesse Borrego is an American actor who studied theater and dance at the University of the Incarnate Word and the California Institute of the Arts, earning a performance degree in 1984. That same year he won the role of Jesse V. Velasquez on the musical television series Fame, where he was a regular for its final three seasons. He went on to play Cruz Candelaria in Blood In, Blood Out (1993) and appeared in films such as Mi vida loca (1994), Con Air (1997), and La Mission (2009). On television, he had recurring parts on 24 and Dexter. Borrego has also worked in theater at the Joseph Papp Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum, began Lupita Productions in 1990, and directed the indie film Closer to Bottom, which won Best Made in Texas Feature Film at the Austin Indie Fest in 2017.
