Janine Duvitski

Janine Duvitski is a British actress whose television career includes the BBC sitcoms Waiting for God and Benidorm, along with One Foot in the Grave. Born in Morecambe in 1952, she left drama school and won an early television role in the BBC2 Playhouse production Diane, which opened doors to further stage and screen work. Mike Leigh cast her in the 1977 play Abigail's Party, and she repeated her role in the television version. Her film credits include The First Great Train Robbery (1978), Breaking Glass (1980), The New World (2005) and Angel (2007). On stage she has worked with the National Theatre, the Young Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company, and in 2007 she appeared in the English National Opera revival of On the Town. Later television work includes Boy Meets Girl in 2015 and Hospital People in 2017.
