Harley Jane Kozak

Harley Jane Kozak is an American actress and author who was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and later grew up on a farm east of Lincoln, Nebraska. After attending New York University's Graduate Acting Program, she graduated in 1980. Her first film role came in The House on Sorority Row (1982), a slasher movie. She then took the part of Mary Duvall in the soap opera Santa Barbara from 1985 to 1986, a role that earned her a Soap Opera Digest Award in 1987. Supporting parts followed in Clean and Sober (1988), plus When Harry Met Sally... (1989), and she went on to star in Parenthood (1989) and Arachnophobia (1990). Her 1990s screen work included The Favor (1994), Side Out (1990), and Magic in the Water (1995), along with Necessary Roughness (1991) and All I Want for Christmas (1991). Kozak also wrote five mystery novels, starting with Dating Dead Men (2004), which won Agatha, Anthony, and Macavity awards.
