Glenn Shadix
Biography
Glenn Shadix was an American actor and comedian who moved from Manhattan to Hollywood in 1977 and found his breakthrough as the interior decorator Otho Fenlock in Beetlejuice (1988). Born in Bessemer, Alabama, he studied for two years at Birmingham-Southern College with the absurdist playwright and director Arnold Powell. He landed Beetlejuice while appearing with The Groundlings and performing in the play Doctor Faustus Lights the Lights as Gertrude Stein. Tim Burton later cast him in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) and Planet of the Apes (2001). In the 1990s he took small parts in television series such as Cheers, Roseanne, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Seinfeld. He voiced the Brain and Monsieur Mallah on Teen Titans and also worked on Jackie Chan Adventures, Justice League Unlimited and the video games Oogie's Revenge and Kingdom Hearts II. His television work also included Carnivàle and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
