Trailer

Plot summary

In Moscow, an albino bat named Bartok earns his living as a magician and a con artist. His act ends with a fight against a savage bear, which he stuns with dust and traps in a wagon. Young tsar Ivan Romanov is delighted and gives Bartok a royal ring; the tsar's advisor Ludmilla is not impressed. The bear is Zozi, a Shakespeare-loving bear and Bartok's business partner, who tells him to give the ring back because it belongs to royalty. Bartok refuses. Then Ivan is apparently kidnapped by the witch Baba Yaga, and two children name Bartok as the one to rescue him. He agrees, and he and Zozi set off for the Iron Forest, where a giant talking skull guards Baba Yaga's hut and poses riddles to visitors.
