Faith Brook
Biography
Faith Brook was an English actress who worked on stage, in films and on television, usually in upper-class roles. Born in York and raised in Hollywood as the daughter of the actor Clive Brook, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art as a teenager. A small part in Suspicion (1941) brought her screen debut, and the first film to credit her was The Jungle Book (1942); the Encyclopedia of British Film observed that she was cast almost invariably in well-bred roles. She debuted on the stage in 1941 in Lottie Dundass in Santa Barbara, went on to act with the Bristol Old Vic and the Old Vic company in London, and appeared on Broadway in Letters to Lucerne, You Never Can Tell and The Cocktail Party. Her television work included playing Julia Naughton in the American series Claudia, and parts in War and Peace and The Irish RM.
