Eric Schweig
Biography
Eric Schweig is a Canadian Inuvialuk actor born in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, whose film career started after he auditioned for The Shaman's Source (1990). He became known for playing Uncas in the film The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and Avanti in One Battle After Another (2025), and he has appeared in more than thirty movies. His work as Pike Dexter in Big Eden (2000) earned him the Outfest film festival's Outstanding Actor Award. Other credits include Black Thunder in By Way of the Stars (1992), Joseph Brant in The Broken Chain (1993), roles in Disney's The Scarlet Letter (1995) and Tom and Huck (1995), and Buffalo Hump in Dead Man's Walk (1996). He later took leading parts in Skins (2002) and One Dead Indian (2006), and he received a Leo Award nomination in 2011 for Blackstone.
