Plot summary
Fifteen years after leaving Riverdale High, Archie Andrews practices law and plans to marry Pam and settle in the big city. First he comes home for the class reunion, where his friends have grown: Betty teaches grade school but cannot find steady work, Veronica has lived in France and married four wealthy men, and Jughead is a psychiatrist raising his son Jordan alone. Moose and Midge are married chiropractors with a son, Max, and Reggie runs a gym and a car lot. Reggie wants Pop Tate's soda shop for his gym's expansion, and Mr. Lodge is against Archie spending time with Veronica. Seeing Betty and Veronica again brings back Archie's old feelings for both of them, even as his wedding to Pam approaches.

- Writer Evan Katz was forbidden to read comics as a child by his parents after he used the phrase "Wait up!", which he had learned from Archie; they did not want him using slang.
- Jughead actor Sam Whipple had anxiety before filming his rap performance of "Sugar, Sugar" and confided in co-star Rich, who told Lowry; when Whipple asked for advice, Lowry said "Yeah, don't fuck up my picture". Whipple finished the scene to applause from the cast and crew.
- Christopher Rich, cast as Archie Andrews after starring on the soap opera Another World and as Prince Charming on The Charmings, was hesitant to play an adult version of a children's character for fear of typecasting, but agreed after speaking with Lowry.
