Plot summary
Seventeen-year-old Phil Fuller lives with his young single mother in a small apartment. He tells his English teacher he is smarter than almost everyone, keeps up a cynical front, and treats seduction as his hobby. He sleeps with the basketball coach's wife by posing as a sexually frustrated virgin. He invites a virginal classmate over for a swim, cooks dinner instead, and drugs her food with marijuana. Wearing a fake mustache, he picks up a college student at the campus bookstore. Months of this pass before a girl tells him she may be pregnant.
