Clive Morton
Biography
Clive Morton was an English actor known for playing upper class Englishmen, a type he played often on screen and especially on television. He was born in London and became a Shakespearean actor, holding the title Associate Artiste at the Royal Shakespeare Company; for the 1964 Histories Repertoire he took the Bishop of Carlisle in Richard II, then the Earl of Worcester in Henry IV, and finally the Earl of Talbot in Henry VI. His films included Laurence Olivier's Richard III (1955). On television he was George Trenchard, a prison governor, in the 1972 Doctor Who serial The Sea Devils; he took a butler role in Upstairs Downstairs in 1973; and in 1974 he played Commander Julius Rogue in Rogue's Rock, a children's series, during its first run. He died in 1975.
