Clement von Franckenstein

Clement von Franckenstein was an English actor whose film and television career was mostly in the United States. Born in Sunninghill in 1944, he first spent three years training as a tenor and performed in cabarets and musicals before choosing acting. He moved to California in 1972 and for a period from 1975 to 1989 used the stage name Clement St. George. He appeared in about eighty films, sometimes as a debonair escort for the leading lady or in small, uncredited parts. His credits included The American President (1995), Young Frankenstein and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. He was also seen as a corpse in Murder, She Wrote. For a Joe Frank radio program called Clement at Christmas, he recounted memories of his early Hollywood days.
