Live Wire (1992) on Netflix

Plot summary

Danny O'Neill is an FBI bomb disposal expert. The case he is handed begins when a senator is killed in an explosion, and the inquiry finds neither the kind of charge used nor what set it off. Danny lives apart from his wife Terry after their only child drowned in the family pool, and his conduct on the job is erratic. He also has to answer to Senator Traveres, who has been seeing Terry and whom Danny has attacked. The bombers work with an invisible liquid that explodes once it is inside a body.
