Charles Judels
Biography
Charles Judels was a Dutch-born American actor. He was born on August 17, 1882, in Amsterdam into a family that had worked in theater for three generations; his grandfather owned several theaters in the Netherlands and took roles in his own productions, while his father spent 35 years as a stage manager for New York's Metropolitan Opera. Judels became a member of The Lambs in 1909. Over a screen career that stretched from 1915 to 1949, he appeared in more than 130 films. In 1928, 20th Century Fox signed him to direct Movietone, and he also did extensive voice-over work in animated films. He voiced both Stromboli and the Coachman in Disney's Pinocchio (1940). He died in 1969.
