Chance Kelly
Biography
Chance Kelly is an American actor whose screen career grew out of an unlikely start: he studied English and writing at New York University with plans to become a writer, and only tried an acting class after losing a bet. He portrayed NFL coach Mike Martz in American Underdog (2021) and is known for television work, among it detective Ed Cutler on Aquarius, Mitchell Loeb on Fringe, Randall Watts on Banshee and Lt. Col. Stephen Ferrando in HBO's Generation Kill, a role for which the Boston Globe praised the fierce edge he brought. On film he has appeared in American Sniper (2014), Unbreakable (2000), Stake Land (2010), Broken City (2013) and Too Big to Fail (2011), and he has played nine separate characters across the Law & Order franchise. He also makes the podcast Island Island and produces history programming on YouTube.
