Plot summary
Zoe Hull is a high school student mourning her mother, Jennifer, and she and her father Todd are not close. On her way to school she sees a classmate, Chris Jelick, planting a device in a field and assumes it is a prank. At school her closest friend, Lewis, tries to invite her to prom, but a spilled drink sends her to the bathroom. Explosions around town pull first responders away, and a van carrying four attackers reaches the cafeteria. Their leader, Tristan Voy, sets Chris, Anna Jelick and Kip Quade to work seizing students, while Lewis is made to run a live stream. Zoe gets out through the bathroom ceiling and starts to warn and free other students.
