Plot summary
Amy teaches elementary school and has nightmares about doctors and hospitals, after her father's death. Nick proposes to her one morning, and she promises an answer that afternoon. Driving home after her class, Nick is hurt in a collision with a truck driven by Lucas Dylan; an ambulance takes him away without saying which hospital. Amy's phobia of hospitals does not stop her: she takes a taxi to the nearest one, but Nick is not there. Lucas is looking for his sister, who vanished in the same strange way, and the two agree to search together for where the victims were taken. Amy starts to hallucinate disfigured faces. A girl in her class, Melissa, offers help and names St. Rosemary's Hospital.
