Plot summary

The Landlord has trained Thongs and Octopus as burglars for more than twenty years. Someone ransacks his flat and takes the money he kept in a safe there. A middleman, Uncle Seven, then calls with work: take a baby boy from the Lee household for a triad boss who says the child is his grandson, for a reward of seven million Hong Kong dollars. The two accept without being told what the job is, and find out only once the Landlord has carried the baby out of the Lees' mansion. Thongs wants to give the child back, then hears why the Landlord needs the money. Driving toward a meeting point in Sai Kung, the three meet a police roadblock, and the van goes off the road.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Robin-B-Hood (2006)

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.

  • Rob-B-Hood was the first film in over 30 years in which Jackie Chan played a negative character, a criminal and compulsive gambler, after he said he had grown tired of being typecast as the "nice guy".
  • One scene called for the baby to suckle Jackie Chan's nipple; he was hesitant at first, but relented after the crew brushed a large amount of honey onto the nipple.
  • Over 100 auditions were held before one-year-old Matthew Medvedev, of Chinese and Colombian descent, was cast as the kidnapped baby; he was spotted with his parents on the MTR, and the family agreed to stay in Hong Kong for the shoot.
  • Benny Chan originally wanted Jackie Chan to play a full-fledged villain who "hits women and burns people with cigarettes", but the script was toned down to appease Chinese censors who found the character too evil.
  • The baby could not work more than eight hours a day, so the crew stayed silent and communicated in sign language on his scenes; retakes were needed because of his crying and napping, and production went over budget.
  • Jackie Chan wanted to reunite with his Peking Opera School classmates Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, who last co-starred in 1988's Dragons Forever, but Hung declined due to scheduling conflicts.
  • Jackie Chan suffered minor injuries performing his own stunts, including being kicked in the chest by a stuntman wearing the wrong boots and falling off a quad bike while attempting a wheelie.
