Plot summary
In 1951, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin is gravely ill and the Cold War is intensifying. Stoichkov, a KGB agent, is given the task of finding something that might save him. He comes across a performance in the Baltic region by a German toymaker, whose three puppets, Robert, Kalashnikov and Miss Cyclops, move on stage with an eerie realism. Stoichkov looks into the show's host and finds that the toymaker keeps a mystical book said to hold the key to eternal life. Thinking the book could spare Stalin from death, Stoichkov abducts the toymaker and boards a plane for Moscow with him and a team of KGB agents.
