Maggie Baker is head producer of Julia Wise's lifestyle show in Los Angeles and of its yearly Christmas special. She wins approval to make the next special, airing Christmas Eve, entirely live from Julia's Vermont farmhouse. A week before, the network loses confidence, and Julia brings in her son Danny Wise, who produced the specials before Maggie and now makes documentary shorts, to rework it as a taped show.
