Plot summary
In Chuska, New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation, the Chuska Warriors play high school basketball and begin a season with a chance at the state title. Naat'áanii Jackson, once the captain, is back after missing his junior year, when his mother and sister died. His lifelong friend Jimmy Holiday held that spot while he was gone. Heather Hobbs, the coach, has to make this season work or she will lose her job. The Warriors take their first game by a decisive margin.
