Plot summary
In 2068, Spectrum, the military organization that protects Earth, is locked in a war with the Mysterons, who can rebuild anything they destroy and send the duplicate against humanity. Captain Scarlet, killed and rebuilt by them until he slipped their control, can recover from wounds that would kill anyone else. When an astronomer on Spectrum's survey of Mars is replaced by a Mysteron duplicate, Scarlet and Captain Blue are sent after it. The Lunar Controller then declares the Moon neutral in the conflict, and Spectrum sends Scarlet, Blue and Lieutenant Green to the colony Lunarville 7 to check reports of an unidentified complex on the far side of the Moon.
