Plot summary
In a quiet English village, a funeral is held for Guardsman Kevin Deakin, reported missing in the Falklands and honored as a war hero by his family and by the Scots Guards. Far away, an exhausted soldier crosses the moorland until a sheep farmer spots him, taking him at first for an Argentinean. Deakin tells Corporal Byker and Major Dunbar that after helping Guardsman Johnny Fodden at Mount Tumbledown he has no memory of the three days that followed, and that he lived on discarded rations in an abandoned hut. He flies home with the regiment, where Captain Sinclair takes him aside at RAF Brize Norton and a reporter asks whether he deserted. His village gives him a hero's welcome.

- Resurrected is based on the real story of Guardsman Philip Williams, who was knocked unconscious and left for dead by an explosion at the Battle of Mount Tumbledown; his parents were told he had been killed and a memorial service was held, before he reappeared seven weeks later and was accused of cowardice and desertion.
- The film was the acting debut of actor and comedian Steve Coogan, who plays a supporting character in it.
- The real Philip Williams, whose Falklands War experience the film dramatizes, can be spotted in an amusement arcade scene operating a shooter arcade game as the character Deakin walks past, and he co-wrote the 1990 memoir Summer Soldier with Maurice Power.
