Remote (1993) on Netflix

Plot summary

Randy Mason is a thirteen-year-old in a California suburb who spends his time building remote-controlled models and modifying them for stunts. Among them are a helicopter he calls Huey and a yodeling mountain climber, Gunther. His friend Judy Riley, a baseball player, shares the hobby, and he shows her a vacant model home he uses as a hideout. After Randy pranks the neighborhood bully Ben, Ben takes the Zero plane; it crashes into a classroom, and Randy is blamed and expelled. Told that his mother plans to confiscate his models, he stashes them in the model home, unaware that three fugitives from a convenience store robbery have just broken in.
