Plot summary
Alex Claremont-Diaz, whose mother Ellen Claremont is running for re-election, attends the British wedding of Prince Phillip. There he argues with the groom's younger brother, Prince Henry, a feud that goes back years, and a wedding cake collapses over the pair of them. The press makes a spectacle of the incident, and to limit the damage Alex is sent into a run of joint interviews and public appearances with Henry, the two of them pretending to be friends. Shut in a custodial closet during one of these, Alex says he has resented Henry since Henry brushed him off at his first public event. Henry apologizes and explains that his father had just died and the Palace still required him to appear at engagements. The two make amends and begin texting.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Red, White & Royal Blue (2023)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Amazon Prime Video did not release Red, White & Royal Blue in Turkey because of its LGBT scenes, even though the film had launched on the service on August 11, 2023 and, by Prime Video's own account, brought a huge surge of new subscribers.
- None of the actors attended the film's world premiere at the BFI IMAX in London on July 22, 2023, because of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike; director Matthew López was the only member of the production there, and he skipped the red carpet and interviews because he was striking too, as a Writers Guild of America member.
- Red, White & Royal Blue was the last film released under the Amazon Studios name, arriving a month before the studio was rebranded as Amazon MGM Studios.
