Plot summary
Jake Cullen is minding his grandson at his outback home when a massive razorback boar smashes in and carries the boy off. Suspected of murder, Jake is cleared for lack of evidence and vows revenge on the boar. Two years afterward, American wildlife reporter Beth Winters films the illegal pet-food trade at a run-down cannery and is chased off the road by Benny Baker and his brother Dicko; her disappearance is ruled an accident. Her husband Carl comes to Australia looking for her and meets Jake, who points him to the cannery. Pretending to be a Canadian visitor, Carl persuades Benny and Dicko to take him on a kangaroo hunt.

- For Razorback, effects artist Bob McCarron designed six animatronic boars, one of which was built specifically to ram vehicles on screen.
- Director Russell Mulcahy first considered Jeff Bridges for the role of Carl, but producer Hal McElroy thought Bridges had too little international appeal.
- Arkie Whiteley was supposed to be replaced by a body double for a shower scene, but she ended up doing the scene herself.
- The shoot used one of the first batches of a new Kodak fast film stock, which gave Razorback quite high-resolution shots.
