Plot summary
The King's royal gardens are posted against poaching, one sign warning that not even an egg may be taken, and Bugs Bunny enters them in search of carrots. He either does not see the signs or ignores them. An alarm sounds and gives him away, and the Sheriff of Nottingham apprehends him for poaching, with torture the grim prospect that follows. Little John arrives in time, a chubby figure who announces that Robin Hood will soon be here. Bugs outwits the Sheriff again and again, and talks him into putting up a six-room, two-door house in the middle of the gardens.

Rabbit Hood ends with the "real" Robin Hood arriving as a clip from a classic 1938 movie starring Errol Flynn, who was given a personal copy of that film in exchange for the right to use his earlier image.- Rabbit Hood originated the famous "knighting" exchange, in which Bugs Bunny, dressed up like a king, pounds the Sheriff's head with his scepter while handing out an oddball title with every strike.
- Rabbit Hood is the last Warner Bros. cartoon that was released while the studio's creator, Leon Schlesinger, was still alive.
- The film's music plays on the resemblance between medieval fanfares and the reveille: Little John sounds a standard reveille on a tiny trumpet, and Bugs, disguised as a page, plays First Call, the tune known at horse races as the "Call to the Post".
