Plot summary
In London, Jenny Nayar of Barron Industries presents technology that lets objects from the digital world pass into the real one through wireless transmissions from multiple devices. Her colleague Shekhar Subramaniam is on his final chance to design a video game, and his skeptical son Prateek wants a villain stronger than the hero. Shekhar takes the idea, and the game gives its two leads a H.A.R.T. unit that supplies their powers. Ra.One, faceless and able to shapeshift and read minds, is built to outmatch G.One at every level. Akashi, who handled the motion capture, notices malfunctions and lets them pass. At the launch the game draws a standing ovation, and Prateek insists on playing at once, logging in as Lucifer. The self-aware Ra.One then forces its way out of the game into the real world, looking for that player.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Ra.One (2011)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- To make Shah Rukh Khan's bodysuit for G.One, the actor had to enter a small chamber where a warm latex-like liquid was released up to his neck and allowed to solidify into a mould that was then peeled off his body.
- Twenty-one costumes were made for Ra.One, and each suit reportedly cost ₹10 million, roughly US$100,000 at the time.
- Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Asin had all initially been considered for the lead female role, and Kapoor was ultimately chosen because she insisted on playing the part.
- Delays in post-production left only two days for printing Ra.One and sending it to theatres; Shah Rukh Khan kept strict tabs on the work and postponed his knee surgery to finish the film on time.
- Screenwriter Yash Patnaik claimed Ra.One resembled a concept he had developed years earlier and asked the Bombay High Court to delay the release until he got credit or 10% of the film's profit; finding prima facie evidence of copyright violation, the court made the filmmakers deposit ₹10 million before the release.
- The song "Chammak Challo" was leaked several months before the soundtrack's official release; Shah Rukh Khan said the leaked track was a rough version and that whoever was responsible was being looked for.
- On 20 October 2011, Shah Rukh Khan held a live chat with fans on Google Plus, the first time an Indian film personality had done so.
