Plot summary
Darcy Fitzwilliam is a partner at her own Wall Street firm, Avery, Carson and Fitzwilliam, a path she chose over joining the company run by her father, Edward. She has broken up with Carl Downs, who runs Edward's New York office, and returns to Pemberley, Ohio, for her first Christmas home in three years. Her mother, Gloria, has one week to organize the Pemberley League Annual Auction for the Pemberley Youth Center. Gloria hired Luke Bennett, who has just opened his own restaurant, to cater it and to lend Darcy a hand. Luke and Darcy were rivals on their high school debate team, and they still argue as they work together. Edward and Carl are in town for meetings, and Darcy hears of trouble at the firm from her partner Austin Avery.
