Plot summary
Tasya Vos works as an assassin without ever using her own body. An implant placed in an unwitting host's brain lets a machine move her consciousness into that person, and each job closes with the host's suicide. Away from work she lives with her husband, Michael, and their son, Ira, and copies her own manner the way she copies a host's. Girder, her handler and a retired assassin, tells her she would kill better without a family. Vos takes on John Parse, a wealthy chief executive, and his daughter, Ava. She enters Ava's fiancé, Colin Tate, to get close to them.
