Plot summary
Jessica is a driven lawyer in San Francisco who has put her career ahead of her marriage to Ryan, an artist, with their first wedding anniversary approaching. She met Ryan through his younger brother Roman, whom she once represented on an aggravated assault charge, and she is afraid of him. Roman is moody and violent, especially toward Casey, his casual girlfriend. When Roman overhears the couple discussing a halfway house for him, he packs his car and leaves, and Ryan drives home to help. The brothers collide on the Golden Gate Bridge and end up in comas. Roman wakes first and insists he is Ryan; Jessica is doubtful, taking his claim for confusion caused by his head injuries, and asks Casey to help him recover his memory.
