Plot summary
Ben King and Alice Mori are college friends in their late twenties, both unattached when a crowded summer of weddings begins. At a ceremony for their friends Matt and Amanda, Alice, newly split from her boyfriend Nate, drinks too much, while Ben, still hung up on their former classmate Jess Ramsey, tries to kiss her and is told she is engaged. Comparing notes at the hotel, the two complain about facing the season without dates and strike a deal: they will go to the weddings together, and Alice will introduce Ben to single women. Ben's father, Chuck, meanwhile, asks his son to stand as best man at his wedding to Gina, a much younger woman. Ben, citing Chuck's two earlier marriages, urges him to reconsider.
