Plot summary
At South Beach University in Miami, the first day back ends with a dorm toilet exploding, and a group of misfit freshmen lose their housing. They decide to pledge Gamma Gamma, the most popular sorority on campus, which is led by Victoria English, a wealthy snob. Victoria has learned that FHM Magazine is nominating Gamma Gamma for Best Sorority of the Year and wants her face on the cover, but the contest requires diversity. Kristen Haas, one of her pledges, suggests her ex-friend Gloria, who brings six dorm mates with her. Victoria sets the seven to work on initiations, including collecting used condoms in a park, where Gloria meets Derek, Victoria's boyfriend.

- The producers wanted an R rating so the film could carry more nudity; Paris Hilton, also an executive producer, disagreed. The extra nude scenes were shot anyway, pushing the film back to mid-2005.
- Hilton stayed away from her own premiere in protest at those added nude scenes: "I was so angry I snubbed my own premiere." In August 2008 Worldwide Entertainment Group sued her in the Miami District Court, saying she had not provided the promotion her contract required.
- The hurricanes that struck Florida in 2005 held up the shoot and finally forced the production to move away from Miami, delaying the film until early 2006.
