Plot summary
Horror is Jack Travis's trade, and audiences know his work for the fear it stirs. He is reckless and irreverent, and he is now absorbed in a new project: a theater show set in a haunted castle in Scotland. His daughter Bee is there with him when disturbances begin to rise from deep inside the castle walls, and they prey on the girl. When those forces begin to press on Jack as well, he is forced to reckon with the consequences of writing such dark material. A historic curse has been unearthed, and it now threatens him, his sanity, and the people he loves.
