Plot summary
An interview given by an older Roger Sharpe opens the story, which then moves back to 1971 and to the younger man at the center of it. Roger writes for GQ and plays pinball, and his skill at the game is well known. New York City's ban on pinball has stood for 35 years, and he sets out to see it overturned. Ellen and Mr. Sharpe are among the people around him.
