Plot summary
Valentine Wilmot owns a London nightclub and restaurant called Piccadilly Circus, and its success rests on Mabel Greenfield and Victor Smiles, the dancing partners who draw the crowds. One evening, while Mabel dances a solo, a diner loudly complains about a dirty plate. Wilmot traces the noise to the kitchen, where Shosho is dancing for the dishwashers, and he dismisses her. Customers who came for Victor stop coming after he resigns, and Wilmot asks Shosho to perform a Chinese dance, with her boyfriend Jim playing the music.

- Anna May Wong was frustrated that the kiss between her character Shosho and Valentine in Piccadilly was cut to appease the US censor.
- Piccadilly's silent release in February 1929 was largely ignored because the public had lost interest in silent films, so Sono Art-World Wide Pictures worked with British International Pictures on a sound version in June 1929, recorded with the RCA Photophone system.
- Milestone Films re-released Piccadilly in 2004 after restoring only the picture; the original soundtrack was muted and replaced with a modern music score that in no way resembled the original music and sound effects, and the film has yet to be restored with its original sound.
