Jameson Thomas

Jameson Thomas was an English actor who worked on stage and screen, with credits in over eighty films released between 1923 and 1939. Born in London, he began acting as a teenager and took a stage role in The Squaw Man before making his screen debut in Chu Chin Chow in 1923. He starred as Valentine Wilmot opposite Anna May Wong in Piccadilly (1929), which was a hit in England, where reviewers rated it the best production yet made at Elstree, although American audiences gave it only a tepid response; it is now seen as a highlight of the late British silent era. Thomas later moved to Hollywood, appeared on stage with Bebe Daniels in The Last of Mrs. Cheyney, and continued in supporting parts, including King Westley in Frank Capra's It Happened One Night (1934). He died in 1939.
