Plot summary
Angelos studies law in Athens and has high hopes that a better life is within reach. The arrival of his rich uncle Lavrentis from the village is supposed to make that happen, and Angelos is counting on the old man's money to turn his luck. Lavrentis, though, is very ill, and the doctors prescribe rest and calm for him. Angelos's girlfriend Giougiou has another idea: she would rather the rich uncle's end came quickly. So Angelos and two friends from his village, Damianos and Sarantis, take Lavrentis out to celebrate. The uncle has no idea what the young people expect from his money.
